Oct, 2006 Popcorn Sale Coming up!  If you're seeing friends & family over the next month, get an idea of how much and what kind of popcorn they'll need.

Webelos!  We have a program where Webelos can sell popcorn through the troop to build up their "camping account" with the troop to pay for summer camp next year!  Ask your Cubmaster if you can sell through the troop "instead of" or "in addition to" your Pack's popcorn sale.   You can do "Show & Sell" or "Take Order"  Note that we don't do the "prizes" and the troop doesn't keep any of the funds for its own use - every cent goes to the scout camping accounts - that means that 35% or more of your sales goes to paying for your Boy Scout camping and outings!

The Order of the Arrow (OA) is recognized as Scouting's National Honor Society.   Scouts are elected to the Order by their fellow troop or Venture Crew members, following approval by the Scoutmaster or Venture Coach.  To become a member, a youth must be a registered member of a troop, crew, or team and hold First Class rank. The youth must have experienced 15 days and nights of camping during the two years before his election. The 15 days and nights must include one, but no more than one, long-term camp (summer camp or BSA equivalent). The balance of the camping must be overnight, weekend, or other short-term camps.

Results: Ryan B. and Eric O. elected to Order of the Arrow.

For Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) elections, a scout must be elected by a majority (> 50%) of the scouts casting ballots .  In cases where the election produces a plurality (< 50%), a run-off election will be held.  The SPL appoints, with Scoutmaster approval, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader(s) (ASPL) and all other non-elected troop positions.   Following an election, patrols can be reformed and Patrol Leader elections can be held at the same meeting or later.

Results: Zach S. re-elected.
