November 10-12 Campout at Wygonski's Hinckley Property (Where we had the Survival Campouts last on was in May '06). 

	Map to Location.  The event will be held at a private property at 1976 Hinckley Hills Blvd (Rt 606), Hinckley OH. It's just southwest of Hinckley Lake on Rt 606 which is the road that leads to Hinckley Lake from Rt. 303 between State Road and Rt 3 (Ridge Rd). It's on the right (West). The link to a map indicates that the address is farther down the road than it is. (If you zoom the satellite imagery using the link, it's the property with the curved lake and diving board to the right of the place where the mapping program says it should be.)
	We'll be covering advancement requirements including: 5 mile hike with map and compass, Orienteering Course covering at least 1 mile.
	We'll have permission slips available at the November 2nd and 9th meeting or you can fill out the generic one (Click Here) and bring it with you to the event.
	SMS has the day off from school on the 10th.

	Sunday 1-6.  We'll need some from 12-1 to set up the hay maze.
	We keep the pop & water cold and available.

September 28, Troop meeting/Open House at Oak Grove.   7pm for troop members, 7:309 for Guests.

	Set up camping, cooking, scout skills activities & demonstrations for visitors - Webelos and other Scout-age guests.
	The patrols are doing their own skill demonstrations.
	The Roadrunners will be doing a mock campsite, knot demo, and s'mores.
	The Pedros will be doing a flint and steel fire demo, camp stove demo, and a survival shelter.

These are going to be great! Make sure that they'll be done properly and we're all set!  We may have more than 20 scouts visiting our demo.

	Make stuff and get trained up for Camporee competition.
	Deadline to register for the District Camporee.  If we don't have payment and a permission slip by the end of the meeting, your patrol will have to compete without you!   Cost will likely total more than the usual $20 because there's extra fees for the golf.  Prepare to pay $25 - $15 entry fee + $10 for food. September 22 - 24, Cuyahoga Valley District Camporee.   

	"Pitch In" event for Boy Scout patrols with camping and fun * games.  Webelos can attend but can't "participate" in the games (Sorry guys).

	The campout can be optional if you've got other things going on that weekend.
	Fee will be $25 to cover the $15 per person entry fee (includes Sat. Lunch) and an extra $10 for the other "troop/Patrol" meals.

	We may be doing the cooking to feed the Union and Confederate Armies as well.  (We won't be taking sides - we'll be serving sides!)
	The campout is optional if you've got other things going on that weekend but we could sure use lots of help with parking cars.

We'll have permission slips available at the August 10th meeting or you can fill out the generic one (Click Here) and bring it with you to the event.

	Arrive at Hale Farm at 9:30 both Saturday and Sunday.   We'll likely meet at St. Basil's at 9:00 and car-pool but you can drive separately if you'd prefer.
	Get our orange vests and traffic cones set up.
	Get our walkie-talkie's on the same channel.
	Plan the handicap, motor home, and motorcycle, and overflow parking areas.
	Assume positions: At the entrance to look for special handling, at the Handicap area to monitor empty spots, and a few to handle the regular traffic.
	The event starts at 10am.
	Lunch as needed
	Watch the main battles
	Finish with the major crowds by 3
	Rest up and enjoy the atmosphere until dinner time.
	Cook burgers and dogs for the armies.
	Set up camp. (We won't have the trailer available - it'll still be at Northern Tier)

The Form states that Den Chiefs and Jr. Staff must be 14 yrs old at the start of camp.  My recollection is that Jr. Staff must be 14 but Den Chief's could be younger.  Let the Scoutmaster know if you are interested in participating but the age rules might affect your ability to participate.  We'll get a clarification if needed.

Thanks to Mr. Sefcovic and Mr. D.  Genco for making this happen.  Spending the weekend at the booth is a big commitment to the troop.  A big Scout Salute to the scouts who worked their shifts for the benefit of the troop and the community.

We'll post the service hours when they get tallied but a big thank you is on order to those who staffed the stations and hauled the trash.

Congratulations!  We earned the Camp Manatoc "Honor Unit 2006" Banner this year - first time in a long time!

Family Night had lots of friends and families and a decent showing of Webelos from Pack 59 and Pack 378.  Pack 649 wanted to come, too.  Thanks to all the families for bringing all the great dishes and desserts.  Especially to Mr. Hudak for bringing the troop grub and to Mr. T. Genco (and his dad) for cooking it all up.
